We are pleased to announce that members of the College’s Class of 2020 have performed extremely well at the G C E Advanced Level Examination held in October 2020. The results were released a couple of weeks ago, and an overall summary of the results is given below.
- Total number of students who sat the exam = 270
- Percentage of students who have qualified = 75%
- Number of students who achieved As for all 3 subjects = 16
- Number of students who achieved As for two of the three subjects = 15
The best result was achieved by Mr. R. Abirthan from the Biological stream who secured 3As and a 2.9372 Z-score, ranking him as 6th in the District and 9th in the Island. Mr J. Jeyasharan, also from the Biological stream, secured 3As and a 2.9279 Z-score, ranking him as 7th in the District and 10th in the Island, while Mr. Navodh S. Fernando from the Commerce stream who secured 3 As and a 2.4168 Z-score, was ranked 9th in the District and 19th in the Island.
While placing on record our heartiest congratulations to all the students who have qualified especially given the challenging circumstances they faced in 2020 due to the Covid Pandemic, we also wish to thank all the teachers of the College Forms who worked very hard to help their students achieve these results. We also offer our very best wishes to the Class of 2020 in their further studies and future endeavours. As in the recent years many of them will seek entry to Universities and other institutions here and abroad to pursue either academic or professional qualifications.
